Skjærjehamn · 60°57′N 4°55′E · From 8 hrs
North to a trading post that predates the road.
Yellow timber buildings on a green point of land, a quay that has been in use for two centuries, and the open sea just beyond.
Skjærjehamn sits at the northern end of the Gulen archipelago, where the coast opens out toward the sea. It has been a trading post since the 1800s and the old buildings are still standing on the water's edge.
The route north from Bryggen runs outside the islands where the swell comes in, then ducks back into shelter — a coastline with two very different characters in a single day.
Time ashore is spent among the quayside buildings, the gallery and the point itself. It is a quieter destination than the fjord routes, and the light out there is different: flatter, wider, more sky.

Questions
Is the outer coast rough?
It can be. The captain picks the line based on the forecast, and in poor conditions the route runs inside the islands the whole way.
What is there to see ashore?
The old trading buildings, a gallery, and the point itself. It is a place to walk and look rather than a place with attractions.
Is the boat private to our group?
Yes. The vessel is reserved exclusively for your group — no other guests aboard and no shared seating.
How many people can come?
Up to twelve guests. The price is for the whole boat, so it does not change with group size.
What happens if the weather is bad?
West-coast weather moves quickly, and the captain will often reroute to sheltered water rather than cancel. If conditions make the trip unsafe, we reschedule or refund in full.
